Selects is where the world’s best DJs and producers showcase their favourite tracks of any given moment, new and old, with no format restrictions. In this special edition, you can hear picks from an exciting team-up: GRRL, a fast-rising DJ and producer from Durham, North Carolina, and Made of Oak, the solo project from Sylvan Esso’s Nick Sanborn. The pair first collaborated in 2022 on a glitchy, far-reaching EP called Inertia. Here, they curate a playlist of what’s inspiring them, from techno heavyweights like Blawan and Ben Klock to bleeding-edge experimentalists like FKA twigs and SHXCXCHCXSH. “[This is] an energetic, wide-ranging and adventurous playlist showcasing some of our favourite tracks of mostly 2024,” Sanborn says. “It’s all stuff that we listened to and played all year.”
